EQ... Next
most of you have seen the media teases, I even saw one gamer ranking group give it the #1 game of the year... for 2013 which amazes me since no one has seen it yet.... I stumbled onto this site while searching for Elder Scrolls online - which was suppose to be due out this June (rumor) and they had that one ranked #3.
Cellar has been keeping up with the media on EQ next - the storybook model intrigue me. They claim to have a working model in August - we'll see, at SOE live. It was believed that depending on how well the model is - maybe an announcement for it's release.
Most like a few of us will check it out.. I checked out EQ2 - but left it behind early on. What will hold my interest will be the raid makeup - how many people into raids. I know there was a push in the past to drop raids down to 32 ish in EQ - I wonder if that transfers across...
If some of us checkit out - we can post what server (if there is a restriction). Some of the new games are eliminating the server restriction (Elder Scroll) - if you want to group with a freind on X server - you just scoot over to there or visa versa...

EQ2 had some very ncie features.
Their quest tracker was much better and made it actualy fun to do quests.
I liked the fact that ever class could solo effectively.
I liked that doing quests earned prestige and rewards for your guild.

I hated that you lost buffs if not grouped with the buff caster.
Ran out of stuff to do after 6 months and was like 2 raids total, so i gave up.

Actually, that's always been one of my biggest issues with EQ. It makes the buffs more important than the class, all too often. I much prefer the 'buffs are auras on the classes' style. That way if you want a buff, then you invite that class.

*laugh* only 2 raids total sounds good to me.... I think we have too many raids, I prefer the group game (though I do like group game with raid gear).

Re: EQ... Next
So, with the giant EQNext reveal at SOELive, my interest has been piqued. I admit, I have some worries about its similarities to other games that lack the challenge/community of Everquest, but...I've signed up for Beta, and hope the rest of y'all do too. If nothing else, it should be a unique experience.

You realize, Hren; EQ Next only exists because of step 17 in my 45 step plan...

Re: EQ... Next
I have been talking to Thirk and Galamann about EQ Next, along with a few other EQ buddies that were on different servers.
Honestly it looks great and it could seduce me back to the darkside hehehe (which is were I prefer to play anyway).
Of all the guilds I ever played with, my experience with Infinit, Xslia and crew was simply the best. em/hats off.
Hoping that we make another guild in EQN.
Hope all is well!!
