The Artisan's Prize FAQ

It's been fun seeing so many people work on getting this aug done lately. Since a lot of the same questions seem to keep coming up, I thought I'd put together a quick FAQ.

Can you link the aug?
Here. You'll get 75% of the stats displayed there. Best guess as to why is to leave room for future scaling to higher tradeskill caps.

Where do I start?
Lebounde ab Dolmen is the main quest NPC and he is found in Halas. To get "The Artisan's Prize" quest (the quest that rewards the aug), you'll need to have a few things done first.

1.) The Artisan's Wares achievement - this consists of finding 16 groundspawns from all over and handing them to Lebounde ab Dolmen. There is no quest for this, just an achievement, so you can begin gathering the groundspawns before talking to the NPC.

2.) Earring of the Solstice - you will need to complete this quest, including handing the Xanthe's Earring of Nature into Rebecca Cabbageleaf to receive the Earring of the Solstice.

3.) Signets of the Councilman - you will need to complete this quest, as well the as Aid Grimel series of quests that precede it to receive either Signet of Might or Signet of the Arcane. Note that to progress through all the steps of the Aid Grimel series, you will need to have all of your Planes of Power progression flags, up to being flagged for the elemental planes.

4.) Eron's Jewelry - you will need to complete this series of quests to receive Eron's Jewelry.

I did some/all of those old quests years ago, do I still need to redo them?
Earring of the Solstice, Signet of Might/the Arcane, and Eron's Jewelry each have an achievement for completing them now. You will need to have that achievement completed, AND you will need to have each of these three items in your possession. If you no longer have the item, you may have to redo the quest to get it (You can try petitioning). If you have the item, but the achievement hasn't updated yet, try handing the item to an NPC and then cancelling trade. This may cause the achievement to update.

Did you say I need PoP flags?
I did, unfortunately. Samanna's old PoP guide is a great resource here. Since any one person can easily handle any of these events and respawns are long - please share when you're doing an event so others who need can run out to pick up flags they may also need.

What happens once I'm done with all of the prequests?
Now that you can get "The Artisan's Prize" quest, the first 12 steps are to hand in one seal for each of the 12 tradeskills (including fishing, alchemy, poisonmaking, tinkering, and research).

Where do I get the seals from?
Seals for a given tradeskill are awarded for completing a small quest for Lebounde ab Dolmen specific to that tradeskill. For example, to get an Artisan's Seal of Smithing, you get the quest Smithing Supplies, make the 5 items listed in the quest, and hand them in. These quests to get seals are repeatable, and the seals are NOT Lore and ARE tradeable.

In order for him to give you the quest to make a seal for a given tradeskill, you must 1.) have The Artisan's Wares achievement completed and 2.) have 300 skill AND a 7/7 trophy in that tradeskill (200 skill, no trophy for fishing)

But I can't do alchemy/tinkering/poison/research, how can I get those seals?
Again, the seals are TRADEABLE. A qualified tinkerer, poisonmaker, alchemist, and researcher will be able to do the quest to make a seal for you. If you can provide the supplies (or at least the rarer ones) I don't think you'll struggle to find someone willing to help.

What all will I need to make all of my seals?
Let me answer that with a spreadsheet! This should be a mostly complete breakdown of what is needed for each seal/combine.

Does anyone have a <whatever> I can borrow?
Unless what you're looking for is one of the rare components, most likely the answer to this is yes. Several helpful people have already begun stockpiling extra supplies and are happy to share with anyone actively working on the quest. I can't promise we'll have everything, but it's probably worth checking to see.

So which items are the rare components?
This is a bit subjective and RNG-luck based but a few components are quite rare and you will likely need to farm some or all of them on your own. The spreadsheet is color coded based on how much of each item we have stored up, so that may be a good guide as to where to start your farming.
Rare Items:
-Iridescent Scales (5)
-Kraken Eye
-Essence of Discord
-Murkglider Blood
-Pyrilen Flame(4)
-Ice of Velious
-Forest Kangon Head
-Wilted Caladium(5)
-Stale Larkspur(5)

Some other components are are Semi-rare - extra's of these are rather limited, so you may need to farm some.
Semi-Rare Items:
-Charcoal
-Favor of Druzzil
-Chunk of Cazicite(2)
-Earth Mephit Blood (3)
-Liquified Earth (2)
-Chips of Granite (3)
-Bazu Blood(4)
-Lock of Siren Hair(5)
-Magma Crystals(3)

I have extra <whatever> what should I do with it?
Depending what it is, we might be able to throw it in storage with the rest of the extra supplies. Some items are so common / plentiful we don't need anymore of them. Feel free to ask before you just vendor stuff though.

Goodluck!

I'm a slacker logging in and thanks for post. I will be saving stuff. Also suggest getting Anguish for the essence of discord drop.

Thanks for writing this up, Kashta! I need to finish this up soon and most of the people I know who did it forgot about the quest already!
