Community & Raid channels

Post by Xslia »

I wanted to take the time to try and clear up some of the channels we use for raids as there is some new faces on the server.

Community channel : Ashorty:raiders
This is our community channel, we use it to communicate to other raiders, friends, or new faces that want to know more about our raid force and who we are (named for the originator of public raids on E`ci). Since we have a diversity of raiders in different guilds, this is where everyone - hangs out in to go LFG, or ask questions about quests, or just generally chat. This channel is where we announce raid's each night when we are ready to start raiding. In this channel we will post announcement for raid - call a raid channel and a push channel name. We ask that raiders do not discuss any specific strategies on current raid content in this channel. Any content retired by us can be discussed. We do not use it to communicate raid instructions or raid information, so during raids if you want to drop this channel to cut down on channel clutter you can. If your in a non-public supporting guild this does not prevent you from hanging out in channel, but we do have a few rules - such as no linking loot from your raids, posting recruitment messages or selling any items. I also reserve the right to ask specific individuals to not join (various reasons could result in this request, including requests from other leaders of public to ask someone to drop the channel).

The call goes forth in Ashorty channel of : Lets Raid!!! Channel ... <Raid Channel name> ... Level/AA's/ <key> else <push channel name>
example: Lets Raid!!!! Channel ... Factor ... Level/AA's/key else noflags:noflags

85 = Level 85
1250 = 1250 AA's
<key> = this will vary depending on raidforce's progression If you do not meet the requirements called then you would go to the push channel. You need to meet all the requirements called, if not then join the "main channel" that is called that night, else you move to the "push channel".

<push channel> Push channel: is currently noflags:noflags
Push channel is where we meet new names/faces for the first time, it's where we find out your AA count, your raid experience, and gear levels. It gives us a method to count the unflagged so we know how many of the 85/15 rule we can pull into a zone without causing issues with zone auto-kicking people. One of the leaders will talk to you directly or in channel - and will let you know if you can be pushed over into the content we are doing. Once you are pushed - you can join the main raid channel and drop noflags. We ask that you please do not join main raid channel that night until after you are pushed so we can get counts of flagged vs unflagged. If you join the push channel after raid has set up and moved out - and no one communicates with you after 5 or 10 minutes - speak up please, either say something in channel again, or send a tell to a class leader please. Sometimes we get busy with aspects of raids.

Raid channel: This is the main raid chat channel we use for the night's raids. Each night we will have a different channel name - and typically we only have one raid channel per night or sequence of raids.

Class channels: We have channels established for classes that we ask each raider to be in during raids. If you want to hang in them outside of raid time, that's ok, if not, that's ok also. However, during raids, everyone needs to be in class channels. We use these channel's to guide new raiders or communicate specific information or directions during a raid.
