No Love in Paris!

Post by Valspar »

Hi all,

Safely arrived in Paris and was trying to get on to raid tonight but for some reason EQ won't let me log in on Valspar. I keep getting disconnected after the Character screen. I've managed to load different toons, in different zones and even my 2nd account so I'm not sure why Val keeps getting disconnected. I even "sent him home" thinking it might be a West Sep zone issue (where he was camped) but still no love.

I'm giving up for the night (its after 2AM local time) and will give it another shot tomorrow or monday. If it doesn't work, I'll be offline for two weeks till I get home on the 28th!

/grumble

Hopefully see you all Monday if EQ behaves and I'm not totally wiped. The time difference couldn't be much worse. Raids START at 1AM local time. :( Anyway, good luck and hope to see you in Sep 5!

Skynet became self aware. It has identified valspar as a terrorist threat and blasts its attempt to connect with the 'Low Orbit Ion Cannon.' Unfortunately, computers are dumber than some insects atm, and the computer doesn't realize you are just a human trying to play a computer game.

Vals,

I was wondering why I saw you log in the other night - join channels then leave a few seconds later - it happened a lot. But you were logging in - my guess it' something to do with your hotel connection.

I switched Hotels in California because the first one I was staying at (Mariott chain) was dropping my channels after a few minutes - I moved 1 block down the street to Hilton, and never an issue with the game.

Hugs and we'll miss you lots!

You probably won the blocked-port-that-your-zone-is-on lottery.

EQ assigns zones to random IP port numbers. Its not very intelligent about it and sometimes your zone will land on a commonly-abused port that ISPs block.

I had a bit of trouble a couple months back when PoK landed on the microsoft sql server port.
