POLICY: Raid Information

Post by Xslia »

Raid Schedule
Raids are Monday, Tues, Thur @ 7pm EST till we stop raiding - typically around 10:30pm ET - sometimes we run over.

Raids
1. Public raids are done on a DKP system. Basically, you attend raids, earn points and then spend those points on items the drop during raids. See rules about bidding/usage of said DKP points.

2. No boxing

3. Do not bring your ALT (alternate character). Show up with your main to raids period.
Further clarification of #3 rule: Showing up with "Your Main" means just that - yours, not your best friends, other half, kid's toon etc, to help them keep their attend up or try to get them into an event where they want a chance at item, but had to work that night. Do not play another raiders character for raids.

4. Due to limited raid spots in some zones, someone might have to sit out. (this is not a reflection of being a bad player, just we do not have enough spots and in some cases, your gear will play a role in obtaining a slot on raid). If you remain at the designated staging area you will earn dkp, there is always the chance we will sub people in and out as needed. If you decide not to wait, and go to an experience group, then leave raid channel.
Caveat: If you’re a guild member of Infinit and we have planted a banner in a zone that allows raiders to transport to inside of that instance, then you can wait in guild hall. If the banner does not support travel to inside an instance, then you must meet at the staging area designated.

5. Only join raid channel if you are ready to be added to raid, be at the raid staging spot or on the way to raid. This does not mean join channel and wait till you finish up a group mission/task and need more time before joining raid because you are about to finish.

6. DO NOT join raid channel if you DO NOT meet the requirements for the raid. (specific flags if they are called or even different requirements – such as level of character) We have alternate channel for pushes.

7. Raid leader will identify when and if they are doing raid in’s(pushes) for zones. Do NOT join raid channel until you have been cleared by raid leader to join raid if you are in noflags (push channel).

8. If you are a class taller than gnome/halfling/dwarf bring a shrinking device .. unless you can self shrink/illusion yourself. 99.99% of our raids we require raiders to shrink – especially in indoor raid zones. In some cases, pullers are exempt from shrinking due to zone geometry collisions (ie, having issues with getting over steps or objects).

9. We do move people in and out of raids based on needs, class, experience as the raid progresses through events. No one is guaranteed a raid spot start to finish if more than 54 show up for a raid.

10. Raids are ALWAYS announced in Ashorty channel.. please do not spam raid leaders or leaders with "is there a raid" and what is channel. Ask in Ashorty or join your class channel and ask there who/what/where of raid.

11. Join your class channels when attending a raid.

12. Ask your questions about role/responsibility/task, etc., about a raid in your class channels, or group. There is no sense is sending such questions as: where do I stand or should I mezz this mob or similar questions to raid leaders, trust me, they are busy behind the scenes and do not need the additional tells. This is one reason we have class channel and class leaders in channel on raids.

13. Be courteous, be patient, be understanding, and do not be sensitive!! We deal with text messaging and sometimes things are read into words that the person typing did not mean. Sometimes on a raid when asking someone to do something we do not have the time to say please or thank you for each request. It is not that we are not thankful, but if in the middle of a fight or trying to respond to 30 other tells, we trying to progress through them.

14. DO NOT ask raid leaders or other leaders to do a specific raid. Raid is called, that is the raid we are doing.

15. No one in raid is responsible for knowing your dkp, your attendance, etc., that’s each raiders job. If you ask the leaders or the person doing the bidding how much you can spend it will be met with silence or not responded to. All that information is just a click away on the dkp page.

16. Disruptive/disrespectful raiders will be removed from the raid force.

17. Please check to make sure your out of any tasks/expeditions and your merc's are suspended before asking for raid invite - we cannot invite you to raids and in some cases, it bugs the raid tool.

18. Gear checks and AA checks can happen. As we have advanced as a raiding group, requirements change. If we do not think your gear will allow you to survive raid content, we will dismiss you from raids that nights so you can go work on gear.

Not Flagged? Don't Meet the Raid Requirements' Called?

Raids can be called with AA/Levels and/or Keys or other identifying requirements. Keys can be group or raid based. There is an alternate channel for those who don't meet raid requirements.

Where keying is needed, these non-flagged people are known as "pushes" or "raid-in" where we can use the 85/15 rule to push others into a zone. We ask raiders to join the alternate channel so we get accurate counts of those flagged vs non flagged. In some cases, if we have to many non-flagged raiders, we can choose to ask raiders to go work on AA's or levels that night. Unless we push you into main raid channel for the night, those in the noflags channel may not earn dkp, it depends on the reason for not being flagged. Also if you join the noflags channel at some point during the night and we are mid event - it's ok to send a tell to one of us if we have not acknowledged your joining within 5 minutes - we might have just missed you joining due to being busy on an event. Pushes are raid leaders choice, at times it’s not first come first out, but other factors that may get a person out of noflags as a push.

Lock-outs from current content obtained from another raid team
1) Raiders that have already incurred lockouts for Active targets we announce – should drop channel/raid. IE, they won’t earn DKP If you actively participate in another teams raids of same content, do not join our raid channel until your sure we are not raiding an event you have lockout for.
We will not WARN or announce or keep a list of who can raid what target. If you do not want a lockout from our content – don’t join raid till you know what we are raiding.

Class Raid Channel
These are the channels raiders are required to join when raiding for communication purposes:

Rangers, Rogues, Beserkers, Beastlords, Monks : ADPS
Wizard, Magicians, Necromancers :AWIZ
Enchanters : PENC
Clerics, Druids : CLR
Shadow Knights, Palidins : PUBKNIGHTS
Shamans: PUBSHAM
Warriors: WAR
Rogues: Rog

some of these are password-ed so ask in raid for password if you do not know it.

Ready to Raid? or AFK

Each night we call a ‘raid channel” in the Ashorty channel. This channel is where we communicate information to other raiders that are in different guild. The raid channel can and does varies from night to night, we use this raid channel to first, gather numbers, then the rest of the evening we use it to determine who was at the raid for dkp purposes and communications on the raid.

1) you join raid channel when you’re ready to raid

If you join channel after raid has moved to target (after initial setup time) and you do not get an raid invite - say something in channel - we zone, we die, we might be busy with other raid aspects and just miss the fact you joined that channel. If a few minutes have passed with no acknowledgement, say something please, and/or send a tell. We do not mean to overlook anyone.

2) when you leave raid (ie, your done raiding for the night) – you leave raid channel and then drop task/expedition as it may apply. If your asked to sit out an event, you stay in channel.

I have reached my limit of tracking down people still in channel after they have left the raid for the night, if you do not leave raid channel immediately when you leave raid expect a dkp fine. No more warnings (except for a single warning to new people who may not yet be aware of this rule). I do not want to spend 10 minutes or more trying to match up the number in raid to the number in channel. Informing me that you are automatically logged out when you decide to camp out - 15 minutes later - will not meet this criteria for leaving raids. I will not wait for you to gate out - get to your guild hall and clear your bags or shuffle around any augs from new items you have one etc, when leave raid – leave the night raid chat channel also. Period.
When you leave raid, you leave channel, you leave the DZ - this should be habit.

3) Any NON-INSTRUCTIONAL information that needs to be communicated – needs to be put in the nightly raid chat channel not /raidsay. /raidsay is reserved for those who need to provide needed information about an event, changes in strategies, and movement commands (VITAL information that keeps the raid flowing). Question or general chat should always go in raid chat channel, not /raidsay.
Lately we have some raiders who join the channel and go AFK for 30 minutes or longer (unacceptable), or we have those that never drop the channel when they leave raid. We understand emergencies happen and sometimes people have to /gate out, but lately the raid leaders and others have to spend time tracking down who is in expedition that forgot to leave or who is in raid channel that forgot to leave. This impedes our process to form raid quickly by getting other raiders into that spot or even remove raiders from earning dkp for an event they are not participating in.

1) Going forward - we will start putting into raid channel
• ##### remove <name> - forgot to leave raid channel.
• ##### remove <name > forgot to drop expedition
• ##### remove <name> has been afk from the time we gathered to after start of event.
2) We will start extracting these messages and posting them in the DKP log files sections.
3) I will then subsequently extract them from the raid leaders logs and post them in the DKP Points and discrepancies section (open forum).
4) First time post with your name is a warning message.
5) Second time post with your name – 5 dkp
6) Third time post with your name – 10 dkp
7) Subsequent times – 20 dkp charges.

Basically, we are tired of tracking you down and removing you from expedition or raid channel. We are also not going to accept long periods of AFK in raid channel.

AFK?
Things happen, kids fall, doorbell rings, phone rings etc., - any number of issues that will take out attention off the screen for a period of time.

If you’re in a zone and raiding any AFK should be communicated to group. A lot of you know the events and know when a fast AFK is feasible or not. If you don't know ask in your class channel - hey I need a fast break - can I go afk now for 1 minute or so? Most can let you know when it's feasible.
If you’re sitting out, did not make first group in zone and are waiting - if you are gone more then 5-10 minutes - drop channel. Rejoin when you come back. If you are sitting out and we send repeated tells or try and raid invite you and you don't respond, You will be removed from attends and removed from raid chat channel if there is a long lapse in response or no response.
If any raider notices someone in raid that has seems inactive (not moved, not responded, has no one or mob on target for several minutes) then inform the class leaders first (don't bug the Raid leader unless needed, we can do that job for you!). If you are sitting on your duff doing nothing during an event, you earn nothing for dkp and are rewarded with being removed from raid.

Disrepect or complaining

Raid leaders are not there for your personal abuse or dis-respectfulness. Whether in tells or in raid channels, there is absolutely no reason to be disrespectful to anyone

The raid leaders can and do dismiss raiders from raids that start bitching at them or showing their ass.

Getting upset over loot or being sat out of an event is a waste of energy, your and ours. You start bitching about loot or sitting out, then expect to be sat out of raids that night and not earn dkp.

Everyone wants to raid and have fun, even the Raid Leaders, but if your being a dick or several people being an ass just drags them down and changes the game for them also.
