If you think about it, a customer privacy breach is an effective retaliation on Sony. It's sort of a David vs Goliath scenario. Denial of service attacks are lame, but what they did cut into Sony's profits and customer base. It's a severe blow. Sony spent corporate funds on criminalizing a respected hacker in the hacker culture, and the hackers made that decision cost more than Sony could have predicted.

Even if Anonymous denounces the privacy attack, it is likely that someone affiliated with them is responsible. I imagine their members are smirking. This seems like a war on copper turfs.

Who knows how long the service will be down. From what I am reading online I am thinking it may be well into the end of May. It's hard to believe Sony had such crappy safe guards against intrusion into their servers. Information stolen from an obsolete 2007 database? Lol! It's hard to find good workers just to press the delete button these days. I hope someone got caned for that one. They sure earned it.
My interest in another online game at this time is nil. Congrats and I hope you plan to come back after EQ opens back up. Game won't be the same without you.

I'm just filling in the time till EQ comes back. I could have reactivated my wow account, but figured I see if the maturity level was a bit better in Rift. But I have managed to get some stuff around the house done a lot sooner then planned, I should be caught up on all the "I'll do that someday" projects around the house. I'm just about down to organizing my postcards and pictures into books.... after that it's family history tree time!

i did the wow 10 day trial ,it was fun for 10 minutes after a half hour download. but i felt like Smokey at the end of Friday when he tells big worm "im goin to rehab", then lights another. bleh. reckon ill spend the weekend at the ballfield instead

Well even if they were ready to be up and running. I don't blame them taking a few more days cause there's an article out saying there was another hack attk planed for this weekend on them. 

So what is the game Rift? I don't play any other games other than EQ. My location and following skills are enough for that game to make Lys go crazy. Imagine another game.

I also lucked out. Today is my 40th birthday so my 'harem' gets to miss out on spanking me!
