Well, we do have backups. If we take that route, UCS will be down for another 2 days at least. If the current process fails, would you rather have your friends/emails and no UCS for another 2 days? Or lose your friends/emails and have UCS? We're honestly attempting to make the best call here. But I'm guessing at least half the players (the ones that didn't move servers) will say turn UCS back on no matter what and the other half will say leave it off for 2 days. Kindof puts us in a lose/lose situation.

The technical problems we are having have nothing to do with doing all the servers at once. In fact, the task would have been much more difficult doing it on seperate days (and UCS would have had to be down for the entire time). This is the first time we've attempted to merge UCS data at all. All previous server merges just dropped data for all transferred players.

The decision is being made at 10am PDT tomorrow. But if it succeeds overnight, you may find out earlier. 06/23/2010 18:17:42

Couldn't raids meet in some long forgotten about zone (Nexus, for example) to form up instead of guild lobby while chat channels are down? That way we wouldn't have all the spam of the overly crowded guild lobby interfering with communication? Just an idea.

But maybe, by 'spamming' guild lobby, it could get some people interested in raiding... just a thought.

Actually, Eagles. They do.

How would you tell people to meet in the nexus when chat channels are down? Some read this, not all.

True we could have someone spam the guild lobby to say meet in nexus, this is being announced every free minutes to avoid spamming with raid info. Nah don't think this is any better. The ooc for raid forming will get people to know us, and a disclaimer that the ooc is only because channels are down and we apologize should be enough.

i HOPE that they have channels fixed...But We can say in raid if ur in Raid move to nexus. And have someone with bot in looby spaming once in awhile a hotkey. I did this some the other night with bot. It Drew alot of attention but none was bad most understand Channels are down this is a temp fix.

But.. having someone sitting in the Guild Lobby on a bot or alt saying meet in the nexus is just like saying that it's raid time. So why bother going over 2 zones just to still be 'spamming' go to the nexus. Defeats the purpose of not spamming GL.

Moving to Nexus Cuts down on a Bunch of Lag for Raiders. who are ready to go.

Ok... but then there is the one topic of spamming in /ooc or /say.
