Nah,it wasn't the patch.According to the forums the latest versions of Nvidia drivers are not EQ friendly. The latest being 266.58.I am using 197.54 which is the suggested driver for EQ and last night it did some really funky stuff before it totally died.Using onboard video works for now but won't allow me to play so when I get a new card I'll be back.

I am using the latest version of the Nvidia drivers on my GTX460 without any issues. I use to have a 8800GT which is basically the same card and never had an issue with the drivers, and I updated them to the newest version anytime a new release was out.
Here is a suggest try going to control panel and add/remove programs and remove the old Nvidia driver then try re-installing the driver to see if that helps. if not then I would swap your video card with Silvers and load the drivers if a different card and see if the issue follows the card or stays on the machine. Then you will know if the card or driver and not something else.

Kane pull the card look for any signs of overheating check the onboard fan see if it is spinning free. I had that same card and had nothing but trouble with it. Overheating causes the random crashing.
Good luck

Well,as luck would have it for me,I bought a new gtx450 yesterday, installed it and then my HD died so bought a new WD 1.5tb installed it and new o/s.Got the pc running and began the task of re-installing everything when low and behold,it crashed AGAIN and several times since then.Sometimes it boots normally sometimes it crashes during reboot sometimes it just skips the HD and does nothing.Guess I'll be upgrading the MB next. All the other issues might have been symptoms of a bad M/B and not the device itself.Wish me luck.

Its possible that might be powersupply related. Try unplugging / removing everything you can (ie, gpu, dvd, extra harddrives, etc.) and see if it is stable.

That sounds like the power-supply to me. You'd be surprised just how much a bad power-supply can screw you over.
