In another thread I commented that monks should only use hth. Even if you only have T3 VoA hth (like I do) you should not go for teh Bton fo Flame from NTOV. Sure it has MUCH better stats and a MUCH better ratio... but it will kill your dps.

From Monkly Business:

Baseline Parse for Comparison = 4903 DPS
Primary = BKC
Secondary = VCS


Test #1 = 4546 DPS
Primary = BKC
Secondary = Baton of Flame


Test #2 = 4339 DPS
Primary = Baton of Flame
Secondary = Beast King Claws

No monk should buy a Baton for DPS, if you want to buy it to keep your 1hb maxxed go for it, but do not use it on raids and do not buy it thinking it is a dps weapon.

what drops in RoF that is a good monk weapon if the NTOV stuff is not viable upgrade over VoA raid weapons.

AND... if you are new to raiding - what weapons in T1/T2, NTOV should a new monk be after if they do not have access to the VoA ones?

If you have a 20 delay weapon, it is fine to replace it with any HtH from T1 or T2.

If you have the 18 delay weapon from Sep2 wait until T2 to replace it, the T1 weapons will cost you dps.

Sadly in T1 and T2 devs got rid of oru 18 delay weapons this expansion.

Shards landing drops Darkspike (121/20) NOT an Upgrade over 18 delay weapon from Sep, upgrade over 20 delay from Sep.
Kael drops Prophetic Cestus (121/20) NOT an Upgrade over 18 delay weapon from Sep, upgrade over 20 delay from Sep.


Vulak drops Brithrax's Rock of Crushing (118/19) Upgrade.
A Feast for Zalikor drops Qulas' Fiery Katar of Insanity (118/19) Upgrade.
Yymp the Infernal drops Bladed Hand of Xorbb (118/19) Upgrade.

My personal preference woudl be Brithrax Rock or Crushing and Hand of Xorbb.

Now if you are using T3 weapons.... The T1 weapons from Kael and Shards Landing are upgrades. If you have Beast King Claw (18 delay) keep that in primary with your biggest damage aug and replace your other T3 or group weapon FIRST.

If you have GROUP level HtH weapons... STILL stick with HtH but get any of the 5 listed weapons.

If you have a GROUP level 1hB swap it out.

NOTE: THIS ONLY APPLIES TO MONKS NOT TO BEASTLORDS. The 1Hb and the HTH at all levels are likley upgrades for Beasts though I can not speak to that with certainty.
