Tunare (E`ci) Public Raiding - & Infinit Guild Forums

Hello all,

As Guild leader of Emerald Flame, it is my sad duty to let you know that our very dear friend, Leanya passed away last Tuesday. Many of you have probably raided with her in the past with both Public and our previous alliance "LA".

Leanya had been a member of Emerald Flame for over 10 years and one of the corner stones of our small and very close knit guild. Just over a year and half ago she was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of stomach cancer and was given a very negative prognosis, however (being the feisty woman that she was) after having most of her stomach removed and both radiation and chemo she was well on the road to recovery. She was declared cancer free about six months ago. We all thought she was in good shape, she had lost a huge amount of weight (a good thing) and her diabetes was gone. Unfortunately complications arose and her bile ducts became blocked and required stents to be inserted to keep them open. Last Friday those stents became blocked and infected. When the Doctors tried to replace them, the infection spread throughout her entire body and quickly became septic (I'm probably butchering the medical jargon but I'm no Dr.). She suffered organ failure and even full I V antibiotics could not help her body fight off the infection.

Leanya is survived by her Mother, two daughters and about a zillion grandchildren (even a great grand child). Her real name was Sharon Hawkins - May 23 1947 - April 1 2013 Rest in peace!

There are no words that I can express that will truly express the depth of her loss. She was a solid person, I loved having her in my group on raids. She told me when she got sick, we discussed it, she was full of hope and positive outlook, which I think contributed greatly to her beating her cancer. It breaks my heart to know she beat the cancer but was not able to survive an infection.

To say the least our EQ raid family has been hit hard the last year. My prayers are with her family, I feel blessed to have known her for her time with us.

I will miss Leanya. I met her in 2005 and started raiding with her in 2007. She was a kind lady and did a lot for others. I will keep her family and friends in my prayers. I am glad I had the pleasure to know her in game.

I had the opportunity to know Leanya in game through Ashorty raid events and found her a kind person and a good player. As I was not aware of her cancer fight and subsequent infection complication, her passing surprised and sadden me. Rest in peace, glad I had the pleasure to know you in game.
