Ok this is such a rip off. I got the OK to leave early - fly back Thursday night on the late flight out instead of Friday afternoon... until I got to the change fee.. I have a full fare econcomy ticket due to last minute booking - so there is no "fare" discrepancies... unless I move to first class.
HOWEVER the fee for JUST changing to a flight that is still 25% EMPTY is more than the cost of the hotel room - so I cannot save costs by leaving early - I would incur additional costs.... What a frigging rip-off.

I agree. Over the many years I have had to travel for the military (a lot) it has gotten really bad ... even for the military folks ...
