Patch Notes

Mages (and everyone using "rain Spells") take note!:
- Reduced the critical chance for all rain spells level 96 and above.

This might still apply to mages but more likely DoT crits?:
- The Spell Critical Chance spell effect has been split into separate Critical Chance and Critical Damage effects. Spells that affected one or the other have been changed to have equivalent effects.

Will this make it easier, or more difficult to see debuffs on mobs?:
- Spells can now be defined as belonging to a Spell Stacking Group. Inspecting a spell that belongs to a Spell Stacking Group will list the name of that group and the rank of that spell within the group in the spell inspection window.

The AA section of Patch Notes talks about a lot of Enchanter AAs

And finally, this one makes me happy!!:
- When viewing achievements from chat you will now see the category and sub-category that the achievement is from in the Achievements window.
- Added the ability to open an achievement in the achievements window when viewing an achievement from chat by clicking "View Mine".

That actually has nothing to do with DoTs ;)

What it means is this:

Previously, if you cast, say, Illusions of Grandeur and Black Wolf at the same time:

IoG: 10% Crit Rate and 250% Crit dmg Mod.
BW: 9% Crit Rate and 200% Crit dmg Mod.

BW crit dmg mod would do nothing, because they didn't stack.

NOW, however, it's:

IoG: 10% Crit Rate and 150% Crit dmg Mod.
BW: 9% Crit Rate and 100% Crit dmg Mod.

And the crit dmg mods STACK (additively)

But wait, those numbers are 100% less!

It has to do with the -base- crit dmg multiplier. (The missing 100% has been 'rolled into' Fury of Magic AA)

So - if you use Black Wolf, it will be the same as it was previously. If you use Illusions of Grandeur, it will be the same as previously.

If you use BOTH, however, you'll get an additive 100% more than previously.

NOTE - in most cases, you will NOT want to stack them. (Because you don't want to waste the 'crit chance' part of Black Wolf.)

(I'm sure someone will do a technical write-up over in the DPS forums. I'm far to lazy atm.)
