Eci Public Raiding

Public cleared the last 3 raid added this past weekend for a full clear of the expansion.   Now we will settle into gearing up and working achievements!

Hero's Forge cleared

And Monday 3/4 we cleared Unkempt Woods.

While we do not use this site for DKP tracking, I thought I would update the news page.    We are pretty much on a discord platform for information, chat, pictures, etc.   We migrated to Opendkp for our DKP needs and the old forums are still there - for the most part a place for prior raiders to reach out and locate us. 

We have been working on the new expansion - Laurion's Song raids.  We have both of the T1 raids (released in January) on farm status, and as of last night (Feb 5th) we have 2 of the 3 new Tier 2 raids down.   We have not been idle!

Some updates.    

1st  - Public did clear T3 NOS back first week of March - the week I was on vacation!!!!!  Good job guys,   but I have no personal pictures to share here because - I WAS ON VACATION!!!!

2nd - The EQDKP+ system went belly up with the PHP base was upgraded to 8.1 a few weeks back.    The software was de-supported last year and we were on borrowed time anyway if there was an error.   After the PHP upgrade, i was getting errors in trying to post new raids.     We scrambled around looking and found opendkp.com.  It is still actively supported and we have migrated our points over.     The new system has some pro's and con's,  but I think the con's are not worth having any heartburn over (like I've lost lifetime earned bucket, but that was more for me than anyone).   One of the big Pro's of the opendkp site -  it interfaces with discord and now we have a raidbot (we will miss you original raidbot) like tool that we can use to get our DKP from discord commands.

Which leads me into my 3rd point - Discord.

We have drifted away from using the forums  ecipublic.net as our major communication tool and are using discord everything for the most part.   I use the forms to post raid attends and use it for auditing as needed.      I'm leaning towards shutting down the forums at the end of this year (2023) and moving to a pure discord platform, unless I find a reason to keep the forums between now and end of year.

Raid team has cleared NOS T2 within a few weeks of release of the new raids - keep the new loot coming!

On Monday February 6th, the raid team won the first 2 new T2 raids dropped after the weekend.    Team won "When the Door Closes" and "Mushroom" event!.

Opening the chests are always a gamble these days - we got 1 item from this chest... at least it was a crafted item not an ornament! 

At least the chest from mushroom had more than 1 item!

Raid team cleared NOS T1 week of release!  Pit fight was won on Thursday Jan 12th. 

Happy New Year!    We got a new expansion in December,  then the first 3 raids released this past weekend.  The raid team ventured into the first 2 of 3 raids this Monday Jan 9th and we beat those events!      We took out the big bug and Mean Streets (what a chaotic event). 

We took a break from progression during the month of Anniversary events as we had a new raid that had a 30 day time limit.  This raid dropped around 8 average pieces of gear what was equal to 1 ToL ore.  We took advantage of the limited time and farmed it and got LOTS of gear onto the raid team (and a few alts since most gear was class specific - as the old raids use to be).

Once that event was gone, we turned eyes towards finishing off ToL - one raid to go "Close the Gate".   Last week we were very close to a win,  we saw we could do it and due to a few miss-haps we are going to chalk up to learning.    We went back in the next week and pulled off a solid WIN.   

This team is amazing and continues to come together and WIN.   We are now moving into farm mode till next expansion.  We did drop one night out of raid schedule for summer and we will stay on this schedule till next expansion this fall.   This is to avoid burnout.    We still have quite a few raiders that need to continue to gear up and we are now offering items that everyone has on mains, to their alts.

Way to clear an expansion.  Be ready to start working achievements (which means PAY ATTENION or Nuek gets cranky).  

Raiders are down to just one more event to finish off the Terror of Luclin expansion.   We have put some events to the back burner due to EQ Anniversary Raid.   We are hitting that twice a week as it drops 8+ pieces of items that are equal or slightly better than the player made ore gear from ToL.   So it's very much worth while getting those pieces of gear into the raid teams hands (well equipped on their character).    2 raids a week with minimum of 6 items is equal to 12 ores currently (or 12 independent raids).     We have a few more weeks before this goes away, so we are making it priority over other ToL raids.

This week,  raiders have won 3 new events,  2 more from ToL and then the new 23rd Anniversary raid.    it's been a fun week to be raiding!!!!   Two more events to go before we have cleared all of the raids.

Raid team has been rolling thru T2 with a second big win on "Free the Goranga".      We have one more event to work on in T2 !!!      You guys are awesome!

We had a great first night in the new tier of raid content with our first win of the Ka Vethan event.      You guys have worked long and hard and have made many improvements and it's showing!!!!   I want to thank every person who supports!  You all are awesome!

I really need to get a few more raiders to help me post news! I totally spazzed out in posting Holiday updates about what we were doing while waiting for new expansion.  However, now I can post how amazing you all are!      We suspended raids for about a month - right after Thanksgiving thru 1st of January.   Raiders had time to do the Holiday family stuff, and explore new expansion which launched December 9th.      

We picked raids back up Jan 10th, after the first 3 new raids were released.   You guys really rocked the new raids.    We beat all 3 new raids the first 2 nights we zoned into the raid zone!!!  Now you all have to wait for another 30 days for new stuff again!  In the meantime, we will continue to focus on the new raids and we may mix a few old raids in there - as we have some raiders still needing gear (always the case).

We have been busy since we cleared CoV,  farming and farming and well farming.  We have over 65% of the raid team in over 70% ore gear, and 99.9% of the non ore gear from raids are going to the  hated, um Beloved alts.  So it's team to easy back some on the raid schedule till we have new content again.

We are temporarily modifying raid schedule from September to next expansion launch,  we will be raiding 2 nights a week (Monday and Thursday).   Once expansion launches, we will add back in the 3rd night.   We will mix up raids some - CoV for the Ores,  then VP for the mount and trophy,  and maybe some old content for achievements.    Our goal is not to pack 9 raid events into 2 nights - but pack some fun into 2 raid nights and variety so that we all don't get burned out.

If nothing else - some of us can finish off tradeskills things we have put off forever!

We had a great night Thursday as Public won our last raid event from CoV - Vulak.   We now have all ores opened on Vendor and the upgrades to our raid force are rolling in!  

If I had to list all the names to thank – it would be a long list – because each and every raider I would have to list.  The bottom line – this is not possible without each and everyone of you.    

Leadership – for leading, behind the scenes updates and management. 

Raid Leader – the most thankless job I can think of but very much appreciated.

Tanks – for their commitment to doing their job knowing the risk they take dying more than any other class (ok except for bards).

Healers – for holding us all together

DPS – for honing their class and skills to continue improving

Utility classes – for supporting and making some of us better with you there!

So, what do we do now!  Lots.   We still need to farm as we want our raid team to be 90% or better ore geared by next expansion.    Also, we may take a night here and there and go back and do some old content achievements and/or raids to help raiders obtain augments or help raiders empower existing augments.  There are things to keep doing!!!
