The official EQ forums are now redone. Veterans lounge was archived, archives are not to be found...
I do not much like this new leader Kiara with her mass banning's on community feedback she requests, and then decoratively ignores everyone and says it is going to be done anyways.
New forums look confusing. Will take a few of us some time to get used to it, I can already see them locking/moving a lot of posts.

That they did. At least now the archives are there with The Adventures Path and The Veterans Lounge so some information is at least findable. They were not at the time of me posting this thread.
The bans still remain in effect however. Even beta testers that put in a lot of good information on the beta forums are on the banned list just because she (Kiara) asked for feedback on proposed changes to the forums and pretty much the community said leave the forums alone. She all but retorted I will do what I want, I am manager, and deletes the feedback thread. A near perfect summery is now found in the archives of the vets lounge here: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq/posts ... _id=165778 if you scroll way down near the bottom to Beimeith's reply to Tornicade_IV and Pouncequickk (or turn a few pages based on how you have your options) it gives a pretty accurate description of what happened and why I do not like her.
But in either case the changes are done. Our new forum mom dictated her will and we all have to live with it. I am already starting to get used to the new one's feel. But the amount of moved threads is tedious to click through. They have to come up with a way to delete moved thread's (there are duplicates... the moved thread lives in a different forum, the originating thread resides where it was posted, but you have to click to new thread location)

Once that happened people began to get angry and became uncivil.
Here is a rough timeline of the events.
0) Zatozia gets moved to SWG.
1) Kiara gets appointed EQ CRM even though she hasn't played EQ since VELIOUS over 7+ years ago.
2) Kiara annouces the forums getting changed, and the removal of the Veteran's Lounge.
3) Kiara starts moving/deleting other posts that don't fit her definition of what belongs in the Veteran's Lounge (even though they did).
Thursday
4) The community responds overwhelminginly against this, but does so mostly peacefully within the rules.
5) Kiara moves/deletes the dissenting posts.
5.1) Kiara says she won't destroy the Vet Lounge, but archive it and disallow new posts.
5.2) The community says this is not good enough, they don't want it changed at all.
5.3) Kiara basically says too bad.
6) The community gets angry at their posts getting deleted and feedback ignored and starts getting ugly.
6.5) Karian gets banned, opens up non-SoE forums for unmodded discussion.
7) Kiara tries to mod everything offensive away and starts responding in kind, calling people trolls and a mention of D-baggey, to the community.
The more she tries to mod away the angrier the community gets.
8.5) Few more people are given temp bans.
Friday
9) Brasse tells Kiara to take a time-out today because she can't handle it, call
10) Virrago the Head SoE mod comes in along with a host of other unknown mods (presumably from EQ2/SWG or so) to stem the tide of backlash.
11) More people are given temp bans.
11.5) The banned start talking on Karians non-soe forums.
12) Virrago sees the posts on Karian's forums and changes the temp-bans into perma-bans.
12.5) Karian makes his forums private.
13) Virrago changes the EQ forum rules to justify perma-banning them when the rule did not previously exist at the time.
14) Virrago outright lies by saying the rules always existed.
15) The community backlashes against both the unjustified perma-bans and the outright lie that the rule had always existed.
16) Brasse trys to justify Virrago's bans with bad analogies.

Yeah that was the post. I seen Karian make a new reply to a post. Maybe the supposedly perma-banned people are back with a slap in the hand warning.
