Bad news

Post by Fidobeggins »

Hi everybody, just wanted to let everybody know my status and ask for prayers from those that pray. My wife was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, not sure if Viss has shared this with anybody yet. I don't see myself logging on anytime in the foreseeable future as we are still trying to come to grips with what this will mean to our family. I haven't gotten a chance to talk to Viss yet, but will leave it up to him if he wants to keep my account active until we get a handle on our situation and I can play again.

Fido, if you PM me with wife's name I'll put her my Church's intercessory prayer list. Each week we have group of people that go to our Church (Methodist) and lift up to God - names on the list. If you choose to give me a mailing address, the Church will send her cards letting her know she is being prayed for.

Know that She and you & your family and friends are on my prayer list this week. Drop us a line when time permits and let us know how you are doing. Take care of yourself also in stressful times.

Virtual hug coming your way /hug

I was reluctant to type anything after reading your post Fidobeggins because it is hard to find the right words and wish someone with cancer a speedy recovery. It is one sad aspect of cancer. One certainly does not want to offend. I went ahead and wrote this hoping it will help, even a little.
For many patients cancer is a long drawn out process and the fight can last for many years. As isolated as you and your wife may feel right now, you both are not alone. Remember that cancer diagnosis for your wife does not mean the end of the story. Cancer survivors prove every day that this can be the beginning of a completely new positive chapter in your life.
You and your family will be in my prayers. Please keep in touch with us and let us know how you are doing. I wish you and your family the warmest best wishes possible during this stressful times.

I am very sorry to hear that Fido. My hope is for complete remission. Your wife, you and your family, and her doctors are in my prayers.
