I wanted to formally say goodbye to public raiding, I have raided off an on for years, but recently been a little disgruntled about being sat out, when I am the only attending bard on the night. I also tend to get on a bit later than start time due to work scheduling.
I have struggled with this in the past, and the nature of my business is a bit hectic. I do feel when i log on, and I am the only one representing my class, that I should not be sat out, its not a good decision over all for a raid to waste a bard on the sidelines. I understand me being late will boot someone from raid to make room for me, and I dont want to expect that when I log on at 6pm-630 mtn.
I have dropped Infinit tag, and had dropped it for days without a single person noticing. Im sure my friends will miss me, but I have bitched and moaned to Xslia enough about my sitting out. I need to spare her further from that, as being a leader and managing 90 different people throughout the months can be taxing.
I thank you all for the memories, and it is a sad day for me.. I feel like I am abandoning quite a few, but I do what I do now for me.. please if your my friend, remain so. Ill be on, and will be around.
c'est la vie

Daneldil,
Sorry to see you leave, I am sorry to see anyone leave, but I think you arebeing a little harsh on the leadership.
I know that work can make things difficult because I leave early almost ever raid. Due to work I missed our Feeroot win, it is just one of the difficulties of having a life away from EQ. Often though I need to leave at 10, I will leave at 9:30 because we are going to be moving to another event, would be 9 45 or so before we got set up and would not finish in time. Its just something I have to deal with due to my schedule.
In your case you get to raids late because of schedule and can not always ne brought in right away. It may not always befair to sub you in immediantely just because you are a bard (even though I love having a bard in my group) when someone was there earlier. This is especially true on farm missions where we are going to win it with or witout our top crew in the mission.
Step back for a moment and ask how you would feel if you were say a ranger and got sat our on a relatively easy mission just because a bard showed up. You were in the mission ready to go an hour after raid was originally called so you waited that hour to raid and then got booted otu to make way for a bard who just showed up.
Whatever your decision is I will wish you luck, but would advise stepping back to take another look. My advice to all you young whippersnappers is always the same... Don't burn bridges.
I've given that advice to many more than just you.... Kindread, Xyndail, Merekitty, Telora, Kilori, Kessai..... I think 1 of 6 has listened and he quit for a long time before coming back for about a month.

Re: Hey Public!
Wise words Eagle, but I think that my schedule is going to be like it is at work for quite awhile, I sat on 400+ dkp for months not being able to spend it, lofting in and out of 35%. Due to my not being able to get on by 5-530. I have made a move that will give me a later raid time, unfortunate I had to leave behind all my dkp, that took me months to earn.. but I couldn't stand sitting out, and being the only bard that's the straw that drove me out. I can and do understand why, and Its not something easily remedied except with me sitting and keeping my mouth shut. Im terrible at doing that..

oh someone speaks french!
pourquoi vous etre ennui d'etre "sitting out", c'est toujour comme ca dans public raiding, if faut just aller regarder la tele ou regarde une match de hockey pour passer le temp... c'est merveilleux d'obtenir les DKP pis faire rien!
who cares about when to spend DKPs or being not able to spend DKPs, LOOK! I STILL HAVE 1805 DKPs, AND ONE DAY I WILL SPEND THEM! WHEN I HAVE THE CHANCE!
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!
