Howdy!

I didn't want to hijack Daqar's retirement thread with my own out-of-the-blue nonsense, but thought I should say hello to everyone who remembers me. I'm incredibly pleased--more than you might think, or that I might have expected--to see Public Raiding still thriving. It's been...four years?...and to this day I look back at our friendships and accomplishments with nothing but pride. I still keep in touch with a couple of The Keepers thanks to the wonder/ubiquity/annoyance of Facebook, but probably should have come back to visit here before now. I tend to resist sentimentality, though, and knew this place would get me all emotional. =p

I tried to log in as Hrendra when it said the username already existed, but I have no idea what password/email combination I used. How bad is a 4187 AC with 17833 HP nowadays? Granted, that was level 80--and I see you're up to 90 (!)--but I'm intrigued about the rate of mudflation.

Well - as an example, I'm 6635 AC, with 65600 hps (with some buffs.) And nowhere close to being decked out in group t4 VoA.

Oh, wait. That's Quix. (At level 95)

A couple expansions ago, they did an almost complete gear reset. Top end group gear is almost as good as the previous expac's top end raid gear.

yOu would double your HPs, and increase your AC somewhat almost the moment you logged in, actually. (Well, as long as you had House of Thule expansion)

Holy crap, that's even more drastic than I anticipated. =) Amazing. And oh, level 95. Wow. =p Since I started when max was 60, that's pretty funny.

Well damn glad to see you bud. How are you doing Hren, it has been way to long. I hope life is treating you well and things are going well. By all means pick up the latest expansion and you get all the ones in between as an added bonus and level up. As for hit points etc... last night I hit over 75,000 hit points with just cleric and shammy buffs if that gives you any idea. No idea on AC and mana is never enough but it is over 65,000 now I believe. I am at work so can't look to check to be sure. Anyway the game is going good, but this expansion has the usual road block but this time it is learning the new language they put into the game.

In any event back to work, just checked the boards and had to say hi to an old friend.

Good to hear from you both. I still remember Kit taking me under his wing at my first Plane of Growth raid, and ooh'ing and aah'ing at the awesome SK armor that dropped there. I still hate those goddamn thiflings. And Cal, of course, former guild leader extraordinaire. I swear you were retired when I did....did they lure you back, too? These HP/Mana levels are just crazy. And...learning a new language? Interesting.

Things are going really well for me. I just finished grad school, completing my Master of Library and Information Science, so I'm almost an official librarian--though I've been working as one for long enough that the degree's mostly a formality at this point. I love my job, and am thrilled to have free time again--which neatly intersected with the SWTOR release. I planned it that way, of course. =p I got married in 2009, am still madly in love with my wife, even though she isn't a gamer. No one's perfect, after all. =) Now that I'm graduated, we're looking to start a family and buy a house, so I know how my newly-acquired free time is going to be spent...

Nah I never retired, was just working 2nd shift at the time and was never on to raid. As things changes so did my job so back on first shift in a new position and back to raiding.

Wow you brought back some good memories of my days of guild leader of DoH. Those were some fun times. I still remember our weekly flagging in Plane Of Justice. Some rough battles we had. I still recall the one where our cleric went down and my pet tanked it, you did non stop runes on pet, and we pulled it out barely. A lot of people were wiping back then, some claimed 100 tried without a win and then we helped them get flagged. Still remember our bard yelling in Plane of Storms level 50 bard LFG. Some in Recon were so ticked we flagged people at that level. Was a lot of fun. Then my druid finally landing a spell in storms and me killing a frog. You were there and what was it? 45 minutes for 1 kill? Ahh good times.

Ya the good ole days and good memories. What made the game so much fun, helping each other and strangers alike.

Gringo! Eagles! So nice to hear from you.

Cal, you're totally right--and that's why I love Public. We pissed off a lot of people/guilds by doing things they thought were undoable, and by having the NERVE to think that everyone has a right to raid and see the game they pay money for. I admit, there were few things as satisfying as finally getting to the top of the heap. It's amazing to think how far we've come since the Planes of Power days. I'm thrilled to see you guys still kicking ass and keeping the flame alive.
